I’m Back and Running a Race!
Oh my gosh, I’ve been gone too long. Life has amped up a bit and I’ve been needing to stop in and say hi!
While this little guy is taking up a lot of time these days, I have a ton of good stuff headed your way… as long as you’re patient! I attended a conference back in May and came out of it with an insane amount of running information and healthy eating tips. I’m slowly but surely piecing it together to make coherent blog posts, but I will admit it takes awhile to sort through my scrambled notes.
Anyway, how is my daily life going?
It’s going pretty well! I’m back with my clients and teaching Pure Barre. I have to say that teaching Pure Barre is SO MUCH EASIER when there isn’t a huge pregnant belly in the way! Holy moly, what a difference.
Our sleep schedule is in a really good place right now so I have a bit more energy for my workouts–which is great given the fact that I’m still battling a lot of baby weight! Expect a check-in on that in the near future as well…
Speaking of workouts, I was invited to run the Miami Children’s Health Foundation 5K! Since having the baby I’ve been craving a local race but the summer months here are dead when it comes to races. 95 degrees and humid? Not friendly to any outdoor exercise. When I got the invitation I sent over a really enthusiastic YES!
For anyone in the Miami area, here are some details on the September 19, 2015 event:
The MCHF5K is designed to increase awareness of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and its pediatric sub-specialties, showcase our cutting-edge research, work, talent and the dedication of our physicians and staff.
This family friendly event features a Kids Race, Kids Fun Zone, Vendor Village and custom dry-fit t-shirts and medals for all 5K participants. The run/walk also offers the opportunity for individuals and teams to support and raise funds for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital world-class care, patients and families. Businesses can also take the opportunity to fundraise, while showcasing their brands to thousands of run/walk participants.
To register or for more information, please visit www.mchf5k.org
If you’re a local and enjoy a community 5K, sign up! The course is on a scenic golf course and it’s nice and calm. Strollers are welcome as well, so it’s super kid-friendly.
Ok that’s my check-in, talk to you again SOON!
