[Belated] Weekend Recap + I’m Published!

Does it count as a weekend recap when you talk about it on… Wednesday? Things are a little hectic here so I’m a bit delayed. Anyway, here goes!

Friday night after teaching Pure Barre we drove up to my in-laws’ house, a bit north from us. My husband hadn’t had a birthday celebration yet, so we planned on having some friends over on Saturday to celebrate with him.

Saturday wasn’t the best weather for a beachside day but I took advantage of the morning’s sun–check out the scenes that I captured! This is my favoriteeee beach because, how can you argue with that view:

Before the boys came over my husband had planned on grilling up some burgers with good organic meat. That definitely did not happen once we realized we had left the dog unsupervised in the kitchen–HE ATE THREE POUNDS OF BEEF IN SECONDS. I have no idea how an animal can cram that much into his system! Needless to say, the dog was in the proverbial doghouse for most of the day after that.

Aside from that snafu, the day was really fun. The dog even got bold and wanted to swim in the ocean to burn off all the raw meat he ate! There was also lots of hanging outside, the boys had their beer pong games on a floating “table” in the pool, and we finished off the day with an awesome sunset:

It was a really nice day and the birthday boy was happy to have celebrated with good friends. 🙂

In other news, I am published in the September 2014 issue of Aventura Magazine!!! Thanks to my partnership with SIX:02 I’ve gotten some pretty cool opportunities. The magazine picked my brain on prepping for ski season… especially while melting in the South Florida heat! Check out the magazine here, I’m page 163! Eek! One of my goals is to be published in magazines and I now have three under my belt, I’m pretty pleased about that one! Anyone want me to write for their magazine?!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are crushing this week!
