my favorite kind of day + a quick bodyweight workout

Monday was the besttt. You know why? It was my day off… the fit chronicles, the fit chronicles blog, alison hay, miami blogs, best fitness blogs, prenatal personal trainer, prenatal fitness miami

And I made it to the beach.

Some of you may agree with me, some of you might not get it, but I was so excited to go to the beach alone. I mostly did this because everyone else works on Mondays, but I love some good alone time.

I grabbed a Greek salad and a green juice (I’m such a blogger) after taking a Pure Barre class, and I was off! Once I got myself all set up at the beach I scarfed my food and then settled in for a couple hours of reading.

I did take a dip in the water but it wasn’t as refreshing as I was hoping for–it felt like warm bath water.

It’s days like this that make me so grateful to live in a city that has quick (and gorgeous) beach access. I totally don’t take advantage of the beach as much as I should, but when I make it there I’m always so happy.

Anyway, onto another thing! My sister sent me a cool and handy workout from the New York Times. It’s a simple, intense, bodyweight workout that hits all major muscle groups and optimizes the exercise order so your muscles are always ready to perform. This is actually a lot like the bootcamp class I used to teach! The key is to make it intense, really work for it.
