I’m probably shallow, but…

Last week I had one of those days where I was in a really good mood. I had energy and was actually looking forward to the busy day.

…Is it weird to say that my mood was only because I had a cool new outfit to wear all day?

this was the cool outfit! I felt so trendy

Yup, I guess you can call me shallow. My day was made better solely because I had some new, funky clothes to wear. Ha!

I don’t think I’m alone in this thought–other people must feel the same way about clothing. Wearing a suit to work makes you feel more professional. A sparkly outfit gets you into party mode. Hell, there’s even a white coat ceremony for doctors! A lot of emphasis is on clothing, and it really does help influence how you feel. It’s only natural that it would extend to workout clothes. Am I right?! Do you agree?

I see it all the time in the media: wear new workout clothes to motivate you to exercise! Reward yourself with a new workout top, not a calorie-laden treat! I may not always agree with fitness magazines and the like, but I’m on board with this one. Wearing a hot new workout outfit will help you love how you look in the mirror…and it may give you that extra push in the gym!

(On a side note, my cami sports bra is Fit Mama, a clothing line from my boss at Belly-n-Kicks. The top is a random flowy top from BP at Nordstrom. This isn’t a review or paid endorsement of any sorts!)

So bottom line, the next time you need a good kick in the pants (pun intended), think about refreshing your wardrobe. It might refresh your workouts and attitude! 🙂
