my [silly] healthy experiments

Hi guys! Happy Friday! Today’s post is a mish-mosh of healthy experiments I’ve tried recently. Here goes…

The other night we had some kale that was on its last legs. I was in no mood to spend time sauteeing it all, so I had the genius idea of pureeing it.

I was inspired by the whole throw-spinach-into-your-brownie-batter-to-disguise-it-from-the-kids thing. I figured that kale stirred into tomato sauce, tossed with pappardelle and shrimp, would make for a good dinner.

But would I do it again? Yup! Just with more ratio foresight.

Okay so onto experiment #2…oil pulling.

weekend recap, miami blogs, best fitness blogs, alison hay, the fit chronicles, the fit chronicles blogI had heard about oil pulling recently and was intrigued. It’s basically taking some coconut oil, swishing it in your mouth for 10-20 minutes, and then spitting it out. It’s an ancient practice and apparently pulls toxins from your body, whitens your teeth, and builds stronger gums. I’ve had annoying gum issues from my years of braces and retainers, so I’m always looking for a natural way to help those buddies out. Oil pulling, why not?!

I’ll keep you updated on the oil pulling. I started out this morning and it wasn’t terrible. We’ll see how it all progresses…

Have you guys tried any weird health thing recently? Have YOU heard of oil pulling, outside of myself and Gwyneth Paltrow (who is a fan)?
