you know what helps a sore throat?

Hey guys! I’m back from my weekend of travels. I was up in Washington D.C. for some bridal activities for my sister-in-law, and it was a jam-packed few days!

Unfortunately my flight on Friday gave me a nagging sore throat for the entire weekend. Think dry, scratchy feeling when swallowing, some body aches, some congestion. Awesome.

When I got home last night I threw on some comfy pajamas and had chicken soup and an English muffin for dinner. I slugged down some Nyquil before bed and here we are on Monday morning–still have the lingering soreness and congestion. I’m just hoping this doesn’t interfere with teaching Pure Barre this afternoon, no one wants a coughing teacher!

Anyway, I found something that helped ease my throat’s soreness and entertained my tastebuds while I shuffled around at the airport:

So we did end up squeezing in a class at Pure Barre! It was cool being able to show my sister- and mother-in-law what Pure Barre is all about. They were a little overwhelmed with the moves and the technique, but they both wanted to go back and try again, they thought it was a really good workout.

I woke up with a sore tush on Sunday, the sign of a successful class! I love waking up and feeling the results of yesterday’s Pure Barre. I’m noticing a pretty big change in my lower half and it’s motivating me to fit in more classes!

As for the run I was planning to do around the city on Sunday morning, I ended up cancelling that idea and just sweating it out on the elliptical instead. With my sore throat I didn’t want to take any chances of getting more sick, and it turns out that I totally under-packed for the colder weather. I would have been chilly if I went running outside!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Any suggestions for a sore throat?
