3.3.14 – weekend recap!

Well that weekend was fast! Can’t believe it’s already over. We had an action-packed couple of days, I’ve got a little recap for ya!

I have to start the weekend on Thursday night, since I made a badass dinner for the two of us: a spicy basil-coconut shrimp with lime-coconut rice and a mango salsa. Ridiculously delicious.

I started my Friday off right with a client, my own strength training workout, and then rounded up the morning with a fresh juice. I chose to create my own juice and had spinach, cucumber, green apple, lemon, and ginger. I wanted to have a head start on my fruits and veggies for the day, and this was the ticket.

my nails matched my drink…

After teaching a couple of Pure Barre classes we headed up to the West Palm Beach area for The Honda Classic, a pretty major golf tournament. We went last year and really enjoyed ourselves, so this year we were looking forward to the day of golf.

I didn’t get to see Tiger Woods since he did his round earlier in the day, but I did get to watch Rory McElroy tee off, so that was almost as good as seeing Tiger…almost.

We had a group of friends congregate at the tournament, so we spent our hours (of pure sun–glad I wore SPF 30!) watching professional golfers and drinking beer. Not a bad way to use up a Saturday!

My husband, however, was an angel and picked up the newest item that’s peaked my interest:

I’ve been wanting to make my daily routine more “natural”, and I heard that coconut oil is a good substitute for face lotion, body moisturizer, and hair conditioning. I slathered my arms with it last night to test it out, and I’m a happy customer. I’m going to gradually test out my face with the oil–my sister and I are kind of afraid to pull the trigger and go full-on with oil on our faces. I’m sure I’ll LOVE it, but that first attempt is scary.

Expect a coconut oil blog post when I have more experience with it…

Did you guys watch the Oscars? How fit and fabulous did Lupita Nyong’o look in that blue gown?! I’d love to know her workout routine.
