TFC tunes: workout music
I always love workouts when there’s new music queued up on the iPod! It may sound silly but running always seems effortless and lifting weights is more entertaining when I’m rocking out to some fresh tunes. I typically enjoy using Pandora on my phone for music variety, but the Nike+ Running app doesn’t allow it and lately the gym I frequent has had internet problems, so I’ve had to resort to my personal music collection. I thought I’d share the wealth with you guys by listing a few of my favorite songs as of late:
- “Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix) (feat. Bell Humble)” – Freestylers: The city of Miami has clearly gotten to me because I now enjoy some house music every once in awhile! This one isn’t as intense as most house music can be, and I find it has a really good beat for an evening run outside.
- “Ni**as in Paris” – Kanye West & Jay Z: Yes, I know I’m behind the times with this song. I’ve been loving this one for probably over six months now (and I’m still not tired of it!), but there’s nothing like that beat when at the gym, jumping rope, or lifting weights. It makes me feel more like a badass somehow. Side note: I’m not.
- “Nightcall (feat. Lovefoxxx)” – Kavinsky: This song is from the soundtrack to the movie Drive. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it–such an unexpectedly awesome flick. The movie’s added bonus is a sick roster of 1980’s-influenced music. While this song may seem a little unorthodox for a workout, I promise it’s a good one!
That’s it for my current music suggestions…I’d love it if any of you could share your favorite workout songs! I’m always looking to add to my collection!
